We all love a bit of speculation now and then (okay, some really don't, but I do), and to me it looks like the Saints Row series will all launch on Linux together.

What I am saying may sound a little farfetched, but hang in there a moment. I've been following their new builds being posted on SteamDB, and quite regularly they all get updated together. This leads me to believe that not only will they launch together, but I am a feeling that Virtual Programming (one of my new favourite porters) will actually be doing all of them, not just the ones they already announced.

Recently for example, Saints Row IV, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell and Saints Row: The Third all had new private Linux builds posted within seconds of each other. So, unless the publisher is holding back builds from different developers to put them all on Steam to test together, to me that certainly seems like the same developer is responsible for them.

It's an exciting time, and I very much except them to be out before the Steam holiday sale starts.

Remember, this is just a bit of speculation, nothing is confirmed and my info is taken from the excellent SteamDB website. If you don't like speculation, no need to comment telling me you don't, go be productive. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Grabbing up my speculation, but I hope this prediction will fulfill!

I'm checking SteamDB every day for these games and I can tell you that even Saints Row II has a port depot regularly updated.

It would be quite logical that these three games are ported by the same developers as they use the same engine. Saints Row 4 was first planned as an expansion to SR 3 before being released as a standalone and Gat out of Hell is a standalone expansion to SR 4.

well this "speculation" is at least a month old :)

have you managed to get beta access? my emails to them are still unanswered.

How are my own personal thoughts, old? It has never been clear until recently when they all started getting updated together.

No, I don't have access.

Well, VP only confirmed they are doing SR2 & 3, and no one confirmed they are doing the others. So it leads me to believe VP are doing the others with how quickly they all get updated.

they actually were updated same day like for a month, i'm starting to think that they're not ported by VP anymore as this series was removed from their homepage.

Well, i wouldn't call it old news. These are my personal thoughts and it's the first time I've talked about such a thing here.

Yeah. I'm pretty much thinking the same thing :-).

Hopefully they respond to this thread and let us know the release date?

I doubt it though :-(

I just hope the articles won't turn into speculation news. What about current games, like Valhalla Hills, a good strategy game which was released yesterday similar to Settlers 3 and 4, and no word on it?
