The Humble Store is having a winter sale, go grab cheap games

By - | Views: 7,432
It's getting pretty cold outside, so now is a good time to stock up on some games isn't it? Good thing Humble Store is now having a winter sale.

As always, you can check what's for sale for Linux specifically on our Sales page, and even filter it to just Humble Store too.

Some "Editor choice" games I picked for you:

- The Banner Saga (Steam key)
Live through an epic role-playing Viking saga where your strategic choices directly affect your personal journey. Make allies as you travel with your caravan across this stunning yet harsh landscape. Carefully choose those who will help fight a new threat that jeopardizes an entire civilization. Every decision you make in travel, conversation and combat has a meaningful effect on the outcome as your story unfolds. Not everyone will survive, but they will be remembered.

- Cities: Skylines Deluxe Edition (Steam key)
Cities: Skylines is a modern take on the classic city simulation. The game introduces new game play elements to realize the thrill and hardships of creating and maintaining a real city whilst expanding on some well-established tropes of the city building experience.

- Alien: Isolation
Discover the true meaning of fear in Alien: Isolation, a survival horror set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger. Fifteen years after the events of Alien™, Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival, on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother's disappearance.

- Empire: Total War
Dominate the 18th century on land and sea. Command the seas, control the land, forge a new nation, and conquer the globe. Empire: Total War takes the Total War franchise to the eighteenth century Age of Enlightenment a time of political upheaval, military advancements, and radical thought, captured in stunning detail in Empire: Total War.

Unless you're interested in the complete Alien Isolation, I don't consider that buying it from Winter Sale is a good idea. You can get it cheaper from HumbleBundle Monthly, and also you will recieve some extra games (unfortunately, it's not guaranteed that the extra games will be linux compatible)

Not exactly a winter sale, but you can build your own Double Fine bundle and save up to 90%. I've just bought Grim Fandango & Broken Age (and some other games) for less than 8€ !

Grim Fandango Remastered lists a DRM free download from Humble under Platforms, but also says the following right above the Summary text:
QuoteGrim Fandango Remastered is provided via Steam Key. For key redemption, a free Steam account is required to play.

So which am I supposed to believe here? Can anybody confirm?

Yeah, it's DRM free too (downloading right now). The wording could be a bit better :P

Just purchased Spirits of Xanadu, although it had the same confusing text:

DRM Free download works just fine though.
