Some good news! SWORDY has been given the green light to come to Linux & SteamOS by Microsoft, as the developer was a bit confused due to the Xbox One exclusive deal they have.

From their Steam forum:
QuoteGood news everyone. Microsoft has given us the go ahead.

Sorry for any annoyance or confusion our statements might have caused, it was really just us being overly cautious - not wanting to get in trouble haha.

We'll be getting things up and running for Linux and OSX during Early Access.

We'll be doing a shout out for testers on those platforms - if you are interested in helping send us an email - [email protected]

Thanks!

About the game
Swordy is a local party brawler with chaotic physics-based action. Master the weapons of war, using momentum and timing to fight for your life in a world built on the bones of a ruined empire.

In Swordy you will wield and engage with a variety of weapon types and fighting tactics. Slashing, stabbing, piercing crushing, cleaving, throwing, and dual wielding are available in the form of swords, knives, hammers, flails, axes, shields and more as we develop. Somehow I just take this as Microsoft porting to covertly try to collect data about Steam Console users.

It's not the first Microsoft game to come to Linux. Dust: An Elysian Tail is also a Microsoft title. It was a very strange feeling to boot up a native Linux game and see the Microsoft logo.

Quoting: edoSo MS doesnt consider SteamOS as a console? I cant blame them, I still down know what that is lol
Well Sony were able to claim the PS3 as a PC for tax reasons by including (for a limited time) the other OS feature. I which case Steam Machines have an even stronger case for the same claim.

Let the irony flow, I would laugh when Halo Online starts to run on wine.
