Steam Winter Sale confirmed for December 22nd

By - | Views: 11,550

Thanks to a tweet from Paypal, we have it confirmed that the Steam Winter Sale will start on December 22nd.

We've got the scoop on the @steam_games #WinterSale. Tweet to reveal the start date! https://t.co/wEjLAft2n8

— PayPal UK (@PayPalUK) December 19, 2016

If you hit the button (you need to view the tweet properly to see it) and send out the tweet, Twitter will automatically change the Paypal tweet to this:

It's an odd way to go about it and they must have permission from Steam to do it.

I might clear out a few from my wishlist this sale, but likely I will just end up picking up stuff that ends up sitting in my backlog forever.

I'll definitely look at what's there and I might pick up some ETS2 DLC as well as some wishlist items but I haven't really purchased much ever since I noticed that everything I get almost invariably just stays in my collection of Steam games that is 99% completely unplayed.

After being luxuriously entertained by Feral's hectic release schedule in the last months, this sale will be my ticket to pickup some indie gems from my humble wishlist (cough!).

Humble as in modest, not Humble Store.

I will buy Deus Ex Mankind Divided for my Steam Linux account...
And rise of the Tomb Raider for my windows Steam Account...
I was about to buy Doom but, after trying the Demo, meh..

Guess I'll finally be getting Stardew Valley. Looking forward to that.

A little frustrating but for the moment I don't feel that there's much available for me to buy.

Still waiting for word on the port of "Everspace". Still hoping for a small release miracle from "Stasis" or "The Age of Decadence" or "Kathy Rain". I had hoped that "Civ VI" and "Shadow Warrior 2" would magically appear (like they were supposed to do on their original release date)

Then there's "Torment: ToN" that I would have pre-purchased if only they had the steamOS logo and linux sys-specs up on their steam page. Not to mention a dozen or so other game-titles that were once "promised" to have future linux ports.

What is going on with Dirt Rally? Isn't it the Spacious Sky from Feral (total speculation)?

This one I'm really waiting for. Still got Mad Max to finish and Deus Ex in my backlog though. It's not really an "emergency" but it's the one I'm most hyped for besides The Witcher 3... that will probably never come... *Sigh*

A little frustrating but for the moment I don't feel that there's much time available for me to buy and play even more games then I've already got on the stack.

Good thing I'm a pauper! So I don't have to worry about sales or such.
Haha.
