A new video game adaptation of the 1989 novel 'The Pillars of the Earth' by Ken Follett is being developed by Daedalic Entertainment [Official Site] and they will be bringing it to Linux.

On their twitter they have repeatedly teased out art and teaser videos, but what's interesting is that they keep saying Linux as well, which is great to see. You can see one of their teasers below:

It's said to be a medieval 2D thriller with a lovestory. That sounds interesting and the teaser certainly has my interest piqued.

Details are very light right now, so I will cover it in more detail when we have more to go on about it.

Found neither the book nor the movie-series particularly interesting. But it might make a good setting for an adventure, as the dull plot and plain characters are quite resembling what you would await from a lucas-arts-age adventure. (Which are awesome, don't get me wrong)

I've been looking to pick up some Daedalic games. The Whispered World games and this look like a good start.

Not sure what to expect from that teaser, but I'll keep an eye on this. I enjoyed the TV series.

Is the book worth a read ?
While we wait for the game i mean.

Book is great, though it's a slow start. I'm pretty sure I read it when it first came out. Follet followed that up with a trilogy on the world war to the 1980's (Fall of Giants) that followed the Mass Effect Model, started off really strong and ended in utter disappointment.

Book is quite nice! Might get this one too if the port is good.
