Wine Staging 2.13 is a pretty big release, with more Direct3D 11 additions and some ideal performance changes.

Reminder: Wine Staging is the testing area for features not quite ready to be included in Wine itself. If you want to install Wine Staging, see here.

What's new?
  • Support for setting/copying UAV counters in d3d11.
  • Support for indirect drawing / compute dispatching in d3d11.
  • Heap manager speed improvements.
  • Implementation of loader notifications in ntdll.
  • Many smaller improvements for d3d11 and bug fixes in other dlls.

They also pull in all the changes from the Wine 2.13 development release.

The latest release features some Direct3D 10/11 improvements, which helps with games like Rad Rodgers: World One or NieR: Automata. They also fixed an issue of decreased performance in GTA 5 and Crysis 3. They've introduced a modified heap manager which improves performance in some corner cases, with more planned.

You can see the full Wine Staging 2.13 changelog here.

Amazing effort by the Wine team as always! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Hmm , at one point a Wine update broke my steam client so could not play the original Company of Heroes. Curios how it behaves in this new update.

Yes, the 2.11 broke the steam client. But this is already fixed in 2.12.
