Foreveracers, the ridiculously silly open-world racer adds AI cars

By - | Views: 10,297

Foreveracers is one of those games that's so silly it's good. It's an open-world racer where the physics model makes things rather amusing.

Everything is wobbly, so actually keeping yourself on the track can be a little difficult. If you manage to gather some people together to play it, there's actually a lot of fun to be had with it.

The recent update has made it slightly better too, with the introduction of AI drivers for when you can't bring people together. AI drivers will drop in and drop out as more human players join you, so it's quite clever too. These AI drivers will even join in when you issue a server-challenge, so you're never alone.

On top of that, for those playing with a gamepad there's now some quick-chat options on the D-pad. Press a direction for a list, then press another direction for a quick message. Very handy, really nice for gamepad players.

Having your username on the number-plate is rather cute too:

Feature highlight:

  • All one world - You're free to drive between the different circuits, and explore the world, without any reloading.
  • Day/Night cycle - The racing in Foreveracers never ends, so keep driving night and day.
  • Over 12 circuits - 4 initial circuits, 4 hidden circuits to find, and additional mirrored variants to then unlock.
  • Race challenge - Issue a race challenge to other players, those that accept will line up and race to the finish line.
  • Special Challenge Modes - If you want a break from the racing, then challenge players to a Scavenge Hunt or Rust-Bucket Survival challenge
  • 6 Main Vehicles - from the slow and steady Starter Car, through to the 'too fast' Sports Car, and the frankly ridiculous Clown Car.
  • 2 Handling options - 'Original' for those who enjoy the challenge of the wobbly unstable cars, or 'Stabilised' for those who prefer (slightly) easier handling.

Good fun for adults together, even more amusing to watch kids attempt to race in it.

Since the last time I tried, they've also solved the Unity double-input issue so it's smooth sailing racing.

Note: It seems some users are experiencing problems launching it with a blank screen. If this happens to you, try this as a launch option (Right click -> Properties -> Set launch options):

-screen-height 1080 -screen-width 1920

Adjust for your required resolution.
