If you like puzzle games and marbles today is your lucky day as I came across Flux Caves, which merges them into one game.

It's early-on in development but it has a pretty great idea. It's like piecing together an oversized marble-run, with each level having various tubes and other special blocks missing that you need to slot into place.

You can see some gameplay from an early version in the below trailer:

There's a demo available on the itch.io store page, with the full version only currently costing $2. I've no doubt the price will rise as it becomes more polished and it's a pretty good deal right now.

While I love the idea, I do hope there's a lot more to it in the later levels as it was far too easy, everything was obvious since it's just sliding a couple of blocks to complete the pipe system that's there already. Once it's a bit more polished, I will likely pick up a copy and see what all the levels are like outside of the short demo.

Roll on over to itch.io to check it out. If you do try it out, do note the startup time on Linux is a little long.

This looks like fun. Though the puzzles are different, it kind of looks a bit like Portal, and a bit like The Talos Principle.

Hy there! I'm making the game and thought to answer for some questions
Soo yeah, the DEMO is really easy, there are much harder levels later, but I tried to make them enjoyable too. not an easy task to make puzzles which are hard enough but not too frustating. You'll tell me I succeseded with it or not :)

We'll see about the price. The top I thinked about is $5, but that will be later at the steam release. The target date is about end of may to publish it on steam. Ofc the version on itch.io will be updated constantly too.

Actually I'm working on versio 0.91 in this moments too, just sought big donation coming from this article, soo big-big thank you for the article and for the greatfull readers too! Thank you guys! :)

It's more like Sokoban meets the Pipes.

Hey, man. Just playing the demo and I managed to get past the "trial ends here" barrier and I am currently playing the later levels. This isn't suppose to happen, is it? :)

Bought it.

Note that if you're in the EU at least, $2 is the price without VAT. Due to the way Itch.io and some other smaller stores deal with the whole EU VAT MOSS process, there doesn't seem to be a way to see the final price until a couple of steps into the checkout process. I'd be so much happier if I could just set my country in the preferences and see prices with tax in Itch.io listings and game pages.

I paid 2.48€ in the end. Of course that's still really cheap if the game is up your alley. I believe I'm going to enjoy Flux Caves, although I've got so much on my plate that I doubt I'll play it until it's properly finished.

You run around and a level started when you went under a cave entrance? I'm just fixed this in the v0.91. It will be public in 1-2 days. ...or you find anything else? :)

I actually found two ways to go beyond. One was underneath the Level 13 building (I went around the barrier through the water) and jumped to the lip there is under the building and it warped me into the level and once I left the level I was free. Second one is much easier, I just jumped over the stones that are around the barrier (the left side, near the glass wall behind level 3 cave).

Am I know this isn't a solution, but as I write on the itch.io site: Everyone who buy the game on itch.io, will get a steam key after the steam release, around May-June. Hope it makes this litle uncomforted feeling better :)

A simple solution would likely just big a big invisible rectangle barrier.

I actually like Itch.io despite this minor issue and of course I'm not blaming you. I do appreciate getting a steam key as well though. :)
