While it doesn't look like much, Scrunk is actually a pretty fun game to play with others. It never really gained a following and so it's going free.
On April 16th, their current plan is to leave Early Access and also go free to play. To help with server upkeep, they will add a cosmetic DLC for those who wish to support it.
With our transition out of Early Access, Scrunk will be going Free to Play. The sad reality of our industry is regardless of the quality of your game, it’s hard to justify putting a price on it when AAA studios are launching hugely successful and popular multiplayer games for free.
You can see some clips below where myself and contributor Samsai took a look at it before:

They had a good idea and the game was fun but sadly it just wasn't interesting or different enough to pull in a decent audience. The all-time peak for the game on Steam is only six people, which is really bad.
Scrunk is an online team-based building and raiding game. Fight off mechs and infiltrate the enemy team's base while building up and defending your own.
Fortify your team's base with traps, walls, barbed wire and turrets to ensure your core block is protected at all times from incoming raiders.
Scavenge scrap from mechs and world events to craft explosives, bombs and guns to destroy the enemy's core block.
You can find Scrunk on Steam.
Indie devs should realise that they can't magically get enough players in their game. They should have something entertaining to keep people in the game even if player numbers are low.
The big problem with this game was that it was completely unusable on your own. No way to even practice since you couldn't start anything without a second team. So no reason to hang out on the server for long than to check if anyone was there. Which meant that the chances that you actually found anyone playing were almost zero.Yup, absolutely agree.
