Supergiant Games did something awesome today, as they've put all three of their older games up on itch.io with Bastion, Transistor and Pyre.

Fantastic to see another highly regarded games developer and their games up on itch, they're all awesome games too and I finally got around to playing through Pyre recently and as expected the quality of it was incredible. Since I'm writing about it, you can rest assured that all three games on itch also have their Linux versions up with no delay.

Regarding their latest game, Hades, while it is currently exclusive to the Epic Store, Supergiant Games did seek to clarify again that it will come to other stores in a Twitter post:

We're focused on a single version of Hades while the game is in Early Access. It's available on the Epic Games store for now and will come to other platforms once Early Access is complete.

Store pages:

I hope more developers eventually get their games up on itch, the itch team may be small but they really do some fantastic work for developers. Their client is optional and open source too, so that's a bit of a bonus.

I wish I enjoyed Pyre but I just couldn't get past the inherent sportsiness of it, alas. Perhaps I should give it another go one of these days, 'cause I still love Bastion and Transistor.

Lutris might be working on it, I wonder if that wouldn't be a solution.

Ideally, I could just point clients at my nextcloud webdav server (or NAS/sshfs/NFS/dropbox/drive/rsync+inotify/etc), if bandwidth and disk space are what's keeping such services from offering cloud syncs.

I never finished Bastion and Transistor. They both have beautiful craft in them, but for some reason they were the kind of game that when I put down I just never felt like picking back up. Love Pyre, though. It taught me that I could enjoy sports games, I just need them to happen outside the mundane world of sports :B

I recommend all of them. Bastion is maybe the most generic of them but the gameplay was decently executed and the art (both graphical and audio) was good. Transistor's gameplay mechanics were unique and interesting with a lot of variety. Pyre has the best characters and story of them all and the best soundtrack, but may take a little bit of time to get over the fantasy basketball aspect.

Fantasy basketball, huh? So, not like ordinary mundane [Regular Human Basketball](https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/regular-human-basketball-is-out-and-its-hilariously-odd.12258) then?

I guess I might need to give Pyre a chance after all. I also lost interest in both Bastion and Transistor before finishing, even though I enjoyed the art and can't really pinpoint any particular faults in the gameplay either.

Yeah, I'd love a solution where I just point the itch.io client to a folder which we be in my Dropbox/Gdrive/..
Games would only need to specify their local save directory/file and the itch.io client could `rsync` that with the specified folder. (Well at least in unix based systems that should work :D).

I like theses kind of games on paper. I like the art, i like the music, but...

Bastion was boring to watch on video, and i didn't play it but 10 minutes maybe.

Transistor was almost perfect, but for some reason, i never manage to actually enjoy it ! I quite quickly, maybe less than 3 hours of gametime.

Didn't play Pyre.

Pyre was my Game of the Year in 2017. If you like story-tournament-based-sport-games, and don't mind lots of reading (you are literally called Reader in that game) definitely pick this up.

Anyone knows other games which are this story-tournament-based gameplay style like Pyre and BattleChef Brigade?

And that Early Access is purely coincidentally complete exactly one year after it appeared on EGS.

The simplest way would be if they all just saved to $HOME/.local/share/games/%GAMENAME%

I like it and would be very happy with that solution. However, I doubt it's works well for non tech-savvy people. They'd need to setup `rsync` themselves or at the very least make `$HOME/.local/share/games/` a symlink'ed to a cloud synced drive..
