It seems like the current Total War: THREE KINGDOMS is now officially done, with Creative Assembly today putting out a video to explain what they're doing.

Notably, Lulu Zhang the Associate Art Director, confirmed that Creative Assembly is now into pre-production on the next entry for Three Kingdoms. So it seems we're going to see something along the lines of Total War: THREE KINGDOMS 2 perhaps. Something like that anyway, based around a similar setting and theme at least. With a bigger company like CA, they have multiple teams working on multiple games with David Torres, the Designer, confirming they're going to be a standalone unit in the Total War historical section of CA now too.

Additionally, a 1.7.1 patch went out today, although not for the Linux version just yet but that should hopefully appear without too much delay. This is mainly a maintenance patch with quite a number of bug fixes, see the release notes.

Given that game porter / developer Feral Interactive continue to have a great relationship with Creative Assembly, and were responsible for the great Linux port of Total War: THREE KINGDOMS - we can probably expect a Linux port of the next one.

Need a copy of Total War: THREE KINGDOMS? You can pick it up on Humble Store, Feral Store and Steam.

I wonder when marketing teams will realise that highlighting data gathered by unnecessary in game analytics is not a smart move if they want to gain customers.

Quoting: GuestI would say mostly customers just don't care. I recall using the gathered data from Tomb Raider 2013 being used for PR campaigns about the game and nobody batted an eyelid.

Probably true in more than one way: the peeple that care may never bckome customers and the one that do...probably do not care.

Still not a smart move since you are basically communicating that you have absolutely nothing of significance to say about the product.
They may not lose the people that do not care about these things but they also do nothing to broaden the customer base. A simple "Look here! New game!" would have done a better job (less annoyance, same advertising). If I was paying them for marketing my product I would have serious questions about where they see themselves in a week or two from now.

Edit: Use as you see fit: ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ;-)

From the sounds of it, it doesn't look like it'll be a successor and rather a new game using the Three Kingdom theme.

It looks like it's getting review bombed on Steam because "it's been abandoned". I didn't watch the video or read any details other than what Liam wrote here, but that seems pretty harsh - every game stops getting updates at some point, and the reviews were quite positive previously.
