Want to support small teams and queer creators? Well here's a good chance for you with the itch.io Queer Games Bundle 2021 and there's quite a lot inside. It's a big cooperation between tons of different creators, with the aim to generate revenue for smaller teams and solo developers.

If we had 1/3rd of the budget of an AAA game, we could give every solo developer a livable wage for a year and every single team a massive funding boost. Imagine what the developers and artists in this bundle could create a year from now if they weren’t worried about starving or how to pay their rent this month.

Purchasing the Queer Games Bundle is a direct action that you can take right now to support queer people in a life changing way and in exchange you get over 200 amazing, heartfelt, fun, and radical games.

It has over 200 games, software, zines and all sorts in between. Plenty of which have support for Linux too, and some that don't can be played right in your browser. It costs $60, so it's around the price of one single AAA game. However, for those on a budget there's also the Queer Games Bundle 2021 (Pay What You Can Edition). The proceeds will be split evenly across all of the artists involved in the bundle which is wonderful to see.

Really great to see itch.io thrive as a place to highlight good causes, indie gems and much much more.

Since the big bundle for racial justice and equality I’ve been a bit wary about itch usability: do we always have to add games to our library one at a time after buying a bundle, or was it only a special behaviour for this huge one?
I got the PWYC edition.

Just mentioning that the Life is Strange franchise on Steam have some freebies and 80% off for the rest, and it's all native. :)

I can't comment about this bundle, but the Racial Justice bundle was the first time they made you add it one at a time. Really, it was probably a good thing for that bundle - it was so large, and there were a lot of things that people probably didn't want to add to their library. This is really my only comlaint about itch - too much content, and a lot of it is stuff I'll never want.

I scrolled through the Queer Games bundle, and the only things I even recognize are games I already have from previous itch bundles.

Even IndieGala bundles have more quality than this.

Still sad we never got a native Linux version of that :(

I was OK with the games not being automatically added to our libraries, much less so with the false promise to add an easy to use "claim all" action.

Well, I guess I’m going to try my luck, hoping I will not have to once again rely on a hacked together script to actually add the games to my library.

Done! And everything got automatically added to my library, the manual claim seems to have been specific to the huge racial justice and equality bundle.

and it drove me away from ever buying anything from itch again. I don't know what I own since it wasn't added to my library. The interface is terrible, bordering on unusable, and it's even worse with 59 pages of games to wander through.

I want an add all button for that bundle or I want everything flagged as something I own. Until then, itch will never see another penny from me.

You can use custom JavaScript like this snippet to add all games to your library: https://gist.github.com/lats/c920866caf9c0cb04e82abba411e1bb9 (beware, it’s the kind of thing that is going to use lots of RAM)

Then you can use this shell script to download all of your owned games: https://forge.dotslashplay.it/BetaRays/automatic-game-downloaders

I don’t think you can expect itch.io to do anything on this front, despite their promises they’ve already shown that they don’t actually care about fulfilling them.
