fheroes2 is ensuring that the classic Heroes of Might and Magic II can never die, and with the latest version out now it's more interesting to play than ever before.

Version 0.9.5 greatly improves the AI behaviour on the world map to include object interaction, task planning and object value calculations along with fixing up multiple World Map problems. There's also now a  Monster Description for every creature with special abilities, continuous scrolling of scrollbars and a further 70 bugs were marked as fixed since the previous release.

It may not have the popularity levels of other game engine reimplementations like OpenRA, OpenMW and more but it's a very important project regardless. Game preservation is such tough work but this the likes of fheroes2, it's another that will continue seeing new people experience it.

Check it out on GitHub and remember to grab the data from GOG.com which it requires to run.

It's just a screenshot combined of two.
Here you can notice extended path counter (in the original game it is limited by 4 days, but currently in fheroes2 you can plan your path up to 7 days)
