A much loved action-horror classic Silent Hill 2 is getting a modern remake and the good news is that it's coming to Steam. So it will most likely run in some form on Steam Deck and Linux desktop.
There's no release date yet and it's likely a good while off, so it gives Valve (and their partner CodeWeavers) plenty of time to keep on improving the Proton compatibility layer to ensure it's ready for more big hits like this. The Silent Hill 2 remake is being developed by Bloober Team SA, who are known for Layers of Fear, Blair Witch and The Medium.
I remember trying to play the original and "noping" out of it pretty quickly. Scary stuff back then.

This is a game that you need to experience unspoiled (in as much as that's now possible). There are critical - and very subtle - points that lose a lot of their impact if you know the story already

Right, that's what I've heard too. I've just set up the Umineko Project port - it's pretty good.
