Asymmetrical indirect control RTS game Roboden now Steam Deck Verified

By - | Views: 24,659

How about a free game to add to your library? Roboden is an asymmetrical indirect control real-time strategy game about robot colonies and it's now Steam Deck Verified. It also has Native Linux support.

In the game you control the colony priorities while the automated drones execute your program. Collect resources, build and combine units, and play with friends in cooperative and competitive modes.

One I missed that was released back in 2023, it looks like an interesting concept and good to kill a few hours with. Since release the developer has continued improving it, and has now put out an update that enabled it to become Steam Deck Verified too. From the announcement the developer added in improved gamepad controls, larger fonts and some accessibility fixes along with a new font.

It's a mostly single-player game. You can play through 100% of its content solo.

There is a split-screen local multiplayer mode that allows you to play in both coop and PvP modes.
It's optional but could be fun.
You can play this split-screen multiplayer online using things like Steam Remote Play.

I would say just give it a try. The game is free and it's around 30mb.
The game is also open source: https://github.com/quasilyte/roboden-game/

If you have some emotions after playing the game (good or bad), leave a review on Steam.
That would help me on my gamedev journey. :)
I promise to bring more cool releases to Linux (since it's my OS of choice, I use Linux on my laptops).
Fair enough? :D

Well, hurrah! I'll give it a shot.
