Act fast if you want a brand new free game, as Nubs! Arena from ex-Awesomenauts developers has released and it's free for the first 24 hours. This is not a free trial, it's free to keep if you add it to your account within the time limit.

What is it? Nubs!: Arena is a fast-paced, party-style brawler with roguelite progression, over-the-top action, and enough chaos to ruin friendships (in a good way). Battle online with 4-20 players or locally with up to 4 players in unhinged free-for-alls.

Game Features:

  • Extensive Character Customization – Craft a Nub that stands out in the chaos.
  • Multiple Game Modes – Battle solo or in teams with up to 20 people.
  • Fast-Paced, Action-Packed Battles with Roguelite Progression – One more match quickly turns into ten.
  • A Variety of Weapons & Power-Ups – Some are powerful, some are absurd, and some are just… fish.

I've verified that it works perfectly without any issue on Linux with the latest Proton 10 Beta. Pretty chaotic with the way the arena shrinks down like a Battle Royale after a while. Add to that the assortment of different weapons you can grab from chests during a round, there's a lot of ways for you to win or die. Could quite easily end up being my new coffee-break game and something to unwind with before bed.

Nubs! Arena | Release Date: 15th May 2025

Proton 10 beta? Problems with previous versions?

Just launched it with the default proton (9.0.4?). Didn't witness anything wrong, but I didn't do an extensive test. Anything we should be aware of?

Nope, but since Proton 10 should be releasing sometime quite soon, and will end up being the new main stable default Proton, it makes sense to test on it for me.
