NVIDIA have released driver version 570.153.02, a new bug-fix release for their current main stable driver version for Linux gamers. In case you missed it: back in late April, NVIDIA revealed a new security flaw in their drivers so you're going to want to make sure you're up to date.

This is a small bug-fix release only, here's the changes:

  • Fixed a bug that could cause OpenGL applications and compositors to stall when using NVIDIA as a PRIME Display Offload sink ("Reverse PRIME"), potentially resulting in a black screen.
  • Fixed a bug that led to increasing memory usage in X11 OpenGL and Vulkan applications after suspend/resume cycles.

Their most recent new-feature Beta release was with the 575.51.02 driver back in mid-April.

NVIDIA don't give any set schedule for when the next release will be for either their stable or Beta series.

Nice! And I just upgraded to the 550 line as this is what is the default in the Debian Experimental repository

I'm much more concerned when will they finally release drivers with support for GeForce 5060 Ti. Currently, we only got beta 575 drivers with support for these cards and you can sparsely find them packaged for most popular distros. Price of these cards is starting to drop and they should prove to be quite popular.
