OBS Studio 31.1.0 Beta 1 brings Multitrack Video to Linux

OBS Studio 31.1.0 Beta 1 has been released for testing, bringing new features to the popular open source video recording and livestreaming app.

This release is a nice one for Linux users, since it brings Multitrack Video support, which was previously only available for Windows that came with the OBS Studio 30.2 released back in July 2024 so we've been waiting a while on it. For streamers, it means you can send multiple versions of the video at different quality levels to give more viewers a good experience (what Twitch calls "Enhanced Broadcasting").

The main new features in OBS Studio 31.1.0 Beta 1:

  • The feature is disabled on NVIDIA GPUs due to feature-support inconsistencies across model series and driver series
