Moonsigil Atlas has a demo out now and it's already shot right up to the top of my wishlist. The idea of fusing a Slay the Spire styled deck-builder with something sort-of Tetris-like is just incredibly slick.

I wrote about it earlier in April, quite interested in the idea and the developer sent over a pre-release key for the demo that I've thoroughly enjoyed playing through. For a deck-builder, it's incredibly refreshing and thoroughly different to play through thanks to the main game mechanic of fitting pieces onto a board.

How it works: you fight in battles where your cards need to be placed onto the centre board. The cards all have different shapes, so part of the strategy is knowing not just what card to use but where exactly to place it onto the board too. Enemies you face can also place their own shapes on the board to mess with you, some of which can have really annoying effects on your cards that you need to watch out for.

There's no mana system, which makes it initially a little odd, as you can just keep on using cards and placing shapes as long as you think they'll be useful each round. In a way, the board itself is your mana. I especially like how the card upgrade system allows you to remove specific tiles you select from individual cards, so you can make some of them easier to slot together with other cards when placing them on the board later on.

Trailer is below if you missed me covering it previously:

Really fun idea and wonderful visuals and audio too.

Go give the demo a run through and let me know what you think in the comments. The demo has over 100 cards, two playable characters and various different enemies to battle.

I'm one of the developers working on Moonsigil Atlas, and I wanted to thank the GamingOnLinux and the greater Linux community. Since adding native Linux support, there's been an outpouring of support and interest for the game!

We've been running a small closed playtest over the last couple of months (though our Discord), and now almost 50% of our active players are on Linux! It's in no small part thanks to our Linux players that we've been able to polish and bugfix the Demo so quickly!

Happy to answer any questions about the game and/or developing for Linux!
