With a new reveal trailer, Gunstoppable from CAGE Studios is a momentum-fueled rogue-lite FPS that looks pretty insane. Just the right amount of craziness, wrapped up in a colourful package.

Another one from the recent barrage of events.

In Gunstoppable you'll be dishing out swift destruction as you build up speed with wall-running and your grapple-hook, to then unleash momentum-based mayhem where damage increases with speed. Combine dozens of dual-wield loadouts with pistols, rocket launchers and katanas, and equip game-breaking augments for deadly weapon synergies. Sounds like a lot of fun.

There's a full meta-progression system in this one, with you earning permanent upgrades at the end of each run. So you'll be able to keep buffing up your character to unleash more chaos by combining elements, attachments and movement buffs. As you progress you "dig through the twisted memories surrounding the protagonist's past, and destroy the architects of never-ending brutality in a blood-curdling odyssey to settle the score" they say.

"Gunstoppable is a perfect blend of what I look for in fast-paced roguelites," said CAGE Studios co-founder Salaar Kohari. "I like my games to feel fast, stylish, and improvisational, and I know I’m not alone. Gunstoppable scratches an itch I believe many FPS players have right now, and I look forward to seeing their reactions to the expressive systems we’ve built."

You'll need Proton to play it on Linux platforms. There's no release date set for it yet.
