Team Cherry clarify Hollow Knight: Silksong will be out before the 2025 holiday season

Team Cherry have clarified the release period for Hollow Knight: Silksong, after a bit of confusion thanks to Microsoft.

During the recent Xbox event, Xbox president Sarah Bond mentioned "The highly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available at launch and in Game Pass when the Ally releases later this year". Unfortunately, some thought that meant that Silksong was launching with it. That's not the case.

In the official Hollow Knight Discord, Matthew Griffin who does Marketing & Publishing for Team Cherry Games, stated "I confirmed BEFORE Holiday - we are not tied to a console release".

So that narrows it down a bit again, we're getting Silksong before Christmas at least. The Silksong wait continues. The release date has become something of a meme with such wild speculation, with various news sites jumping at the chance to cover even the tiniest little change on SteamDB for it. Quite funny to watch. I bet the stress levels are high over at Team Cherry for how people are waiting on this one.

Not to pretend I know how schedules and game releasing work. But if they're sure it's at most *checks calendar* 5 months away from release, how are they not comfortable with making an official date now ? Feels rather strange.

Lol, right. I believe it when I see it. The number of times of them promising a release, only to not deliver anything, must be some kind of record in itself.
