The original Silent Hill is getting a remake from Bloober Team

During the recent KONAMI Press Start event, they confirmed that the original Silent Hill is now getting a remake too.

Bloober Team will once again be taking charge on this, which is not surprising given the positive reception to the Silent Hill 2 remake that released in October 2024. At least truly patient gamers will eventually be able to play through the remakes in order.

There's no real details on anything for the Silent Hill remake just yet, the teaser for it was brief and simply noted that it was in development. The video was literally just this image below with music from Silent Hill.

You may think it perhaps odd to remake a sequel and then do the first game, but it makes sense given the popularity of the second game. The character Pyramid Head was first introduced in Silent Hill 2 and it has become probably their most popular thing (I see someone dressed as Pyramid Head every time I go to a convention…).
