GeForce Infinity was announced recently as another option for running GeForce NOW on Desktop Linux, since NVIDIA haven't put out an official app.
While NVIDIA do have an official app for Steam Deck, we're currently missing all the extra options and better quality streaming on Desktop Linux. GeForce Infinity is not from NVIDIA directly but made by the community. It's also not the first of its kind, there's also GeForce NOW Electron that's been going for some time.
From the GitHub the current features:
- Enhanced UI: GeForce Infinity aims to improve the user interface of GeForce NOW, providing a more intuitive and enjoyable experience.
- Custom Discord Rich Presence: Show off your gaming status with personalized Discord Rich Presence. Display game details and status updates directly in your Discord profile.
- Instant App Switch: Automatically switch to GeForce Infinity once your gaming rig is ready for action!
- Notifications: Get notified once your gaming rig is ready for action!
They're also planning to add Discord Rich Presence, account switching and automatic game startup options.
It still has the issues other apps and using GeForce NOW in the browser have, with the options for quality and resolution being limited because NVIDIA don't support a lot of it on Desktop Linux even if you have their highest subscription.
