Another fresh brew of GE-Proton 10-11 has been released to fix various issues with Windows games running on Linux / SteamOS and Steam Deck.
See my explainer on the different Proton versions and my guide to install GE-Proton to get started with it. Usually, you don't need GE-Proton unless it has some specific fix not available in Valve's official Proton.
Here's all that's changed in GE-Proton 10-11:
- Fixed videos having wrong audio language in Back 4 Blood.
- Fixed Devil May Cry HD Collection wmv playback not working when proton wine compiled with ffmpeg.
- Fixed video playback in Injustice 2.
- Possible other video playback regressions fixed that happened since proton 9->10 update.
- Farlight 84 patch added (yes, another one).
- patch added that may give minor CPU performance improvement (Etaash-mathamsetty/wine-valve@6559c43).
- patch added that may help with Denuvo being triggered when changing proton versions (Etaash-mathamsetty/wine-valve@cd3efb2).
- protonfixes proton script import location moved to beginning of the proton script, should fix a bug with dll overrides not working properly (it was affecting things such as winetricks dotnet installs).
- protonfixes added for EGS and standalone versions of guild wars 2 (thanks tvgold42).
- protonfix added for EGS version of MudRunner (thanks loathingKernel).
- wine updated to latest bleeding edge.
- vkd3d-proton updated to latest git.
- dxvk updated to latest git.
- build and proton changes imported from upstream.
Nice to see fixes coming in for Farlight 84, since a lot of it was left broken after a recent game update. Thankfully it seems it's not specifically an anti-cheat issue this time!

Does this mean DMC3 now works out of the box on linux? if so that would be big.

I don't know if this fixes DMC3 fully, but it won't be "out the box" unless the official Proton adopts these patches. This article is about Glorious Eggroll's version of Proton that you have to download separately, either manually, or by using one of the tools that manage Proton versions for you.

Ah yes, I did know that, but I didn't word my comment properly. Since to me protonGE is kind of a requirement on linux anyways. Thanks for the correction.

protonGE is kind of a requirement on linuxFunnily enough, I haven't used it in about four years or so. Maybe it depends on the kinds of games you play though.
