iRacing just announced a partnership with INDYCAR to develop an official game that will release sometime in 2026.

And just like iRacing did for the recent announcement of iRacing Arcade in the trailer, they seem to be keeping the Steam Deck as a firm target with the logo clearly displayed in their main press image.

We don't exactly know a whole lot about this one right now as it has only just been announced. They have said it will include a robust, multilevel career mode, licensed drivers from the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and INDY NXT by Firestone, and online multiplayer. One little fun tidbit though is that it's being made with an enhanced version of the Orontes engine, which iRacing acquired when they bought Orontes Games.

From the press release:

“INDYCAR fans have long been clamoring for a standalone title for consoles, and we’re excited to give them what they’re looking for in 2026,” said Tony Gardner, president, iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations. “iRacing Studios’ standalone INDYCAR title will offer all the excitement of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and an immersive experience that fans of all ages can enjoy. We are already very excited about how the game is coming together.”

“The most competitive and challenging racing on the planet deserves a dedicated and widely available gaming experience,” said INDYCAR President J. Douglas Boles. “iRacing Studios is the ideal partner for us, trusted and known to our core fans and ready to share our sport with a wider and highly engaged audience.”

INDYCAR isn't as good as F1.
