Set inside an immense interstellar organism, Moonlight Pulse looks like a fun metroidvania and recently it gained a Native Linux version. It was originally released back in April 2024, and now has an overall Very Positive rating on Steam.

More about it: "Team up, learn new abilities and explore a surreal world in this seamless 2D platforming adventure set within the body of a colossal spacefaring turtle. Traverse flowing veins, sparking neurons, and gastric hazards as the world itself breathes around you. Join the heroic Curative Agents, who fight to protect this strange sanctuary from a swarm of ever-hungry interstellar parasites."

Game Highlights:

A Team of Heroes

  • Strategically switch between characters in an instant to make use of their unique combat and movement abilities.
  • Unlock new powers as you take a starring role in each character's ongoing story.
  • Nobody gets left behind! The game ends when any character falls, but characters can rescue each other when they’re in danger!

A Living World

  • Journey through the lungs, stomach and heart of Aorasque, an immense interstellar organism.
  • Ride from one end of the world to the other through a network of branching blood vessels.

Powerful Parasites

  • Brawl with parasitic monsters in fast-paced, frantic combat.
  • Challenge huge bosses in multi-stage battles for the fate of your home.
  • Foil the machinations of a nefarious foe who wields the power to tear the fabric of reality itself.

For this one the developers recommend you play with a controller. Valve actually rated it Steam Deck Verified back in April 2025, although that was using Proton since it was before the Native Linux build existed.

I quite liked it! The setting is very unique. While you're at it, check out the dev's previous game, too - Vision Soft Reset (a time-loop Metroidvania).
