For August 7th Valve released a new update to Proton Experimental to get more Windows games working better on Linux, SteamOS / Steam Deck. Here's what.

In case you missed it first, Valve launched the second Beta of Proton 10 on July 29th (Proton 10.0-2) with lots of changes. Proton Experimental now includes all the changes from Proton 10.0-2 as well. Confused on the different Proton versions? Be sure to read the GamingOnLinux guide. For this Proton Experimental update noted to be now playable includes:

  • Far Horizon.
  • Grim Fandango Remastered (AMD & Intel GPUs).
  • SSR Wives: The Murder Of My Winter Crush Demo.

Other fixes and improvements:

  • Fixed internet radio in Motor Town: Behind The Wheel.
  • Fixed broken CD key entry field in Age of Empires III.
  • Fixed DualSense controllers registering spurious touchpad clicks over Bluetooth.
  • Fixed long loading times in God Eater Resurrection.
  • Fixed Crysis 3 getting stuck on an old EA Login page.
  • Fixed Proton 10 regressions:
    • METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN no longer crashes at the start of Chapter 1 video.
    • Resident Evil Village no longer freezes after cutscenes.
