Arriving in December, Blood: Refreshed Supply has been revealed by Nightdive Studios as the true definitive remaster of the 1997 cult classic PC game.
Even though there's already Blood: Fresh Supply from 2019, this new version will feature various other extra technical enhancements to the game including up to 4K resolution at unlocked frame rates, local split-screen and online co-op for up to 8 players, a Vault with behind-the-scenes development content, new mission scenarios, and more.
In addition to the original Blood campaign and the Plasma Pak and Cryptic Passage add-ons, Blood: Refreshed Supply features two new mission scenarios: Marrow (available at launch) and Death Wish (releasing post-launch).

"Since we released Blood: Fresh Supply six years ago, the demand from fans to have this iconic game on consoles has been immense," said Larry Kuperman, VP of Business Development at Nightdive Studios. "With our partners at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Nightdive and Atari can now deliver on those demands and finally bring Blood to modern consoles. We didn’t stop there, though. Refreshed Supply is the definitive edition of Blood, with additional improvements made and exciting new content from Nightdive."
Game Highlights:
- The legendary blood-soaked shooter comes to consoles for the very first time.
- Up to 4K 120FPS visuals on PlayStation 4|5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
- Fully customizable keyboard and controller gamepad support.
- Extended modding support, including support for existing mods.
- Local split-screen and cross-platform online multiplayer support for up to eight players — co-op, PvP “Bloodbath”, and classic 4v4 team-based “Capture The Flag” modes.
- CD and MIDI music support.
- Includes existing add-ons Plasma Pak and Cryptic Passage.
- New mission scenarios, Marrow and Death Wish, pump new blood into… Blood! Marrow will be available at launch, while Death Wish will release as a free post-launch update.
Pre-orders are live with a discount, and owners of the previous edition get 66.6% off as a "loyalty discount". When the game releases, it will fully replace Blood: Fresh Supply as that will be removed from stores.
Remember: Every new release is the definitive edition.
It isn't, it is a reverse engineer just like like the excellent community ports are.
Night Dive has indeed been hindered by licensing issues given the very narrow terms they were offered by Atari, but Fresh Supply has always been something of a bungle, which they are now going out and asking people to pay for yet again.
EDIT: Okay, they are using original source code this time apparently.

I don't remember the details, but they claimed that they were not allowed to finish it.Yeah. Not only did Atari make Nightdive's job harder by refusing to give access to Blood's source code back then (they have access to it now, though), they even pulled the licence around a year after Fresh Supply's release.
Whut? Why not just update the existing thing instead of making a new release?Because Atari and/or Warner Bros.
Buying this would set a bad precedent imo, no matter if this new one is built on the actual source code or not.
