FUMES really is awesome and it has an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam which it gained quickly after release, and the developer keeps improving it.

In the most recent Early Access update, they've focused on making it a lot more playable on controllers and the Steam Deck. Most menus now have proper controller navigation and so it should feel a lot better now. Additionally, they've made these changes:

  • Added gamepad navigation to menus.
  • Added rumble/vibration for gamepads (can be adjusted in settings).
  • Added missing input glyphs.
  • Adjusted font sizes on some UI to make text more readable on Steam Deck.
  • Various buttons remapped. Because of this we had to reset controls setting - adjust them if needed.
  • Rework of controls remapping UI to make it easier to use.
  • Added separate controls categories for gameplay, menus and photo mode.

An auto-aim feature is also coming to help with gamepads, but that's for a future update they said. Steering wheel support is also experimental but they said with this update it should be "much more usable now". There's also some bug fixes, UI improvements, changes to how loot works and more.

For the upcoming updates they're planning to work on continued controller improvements, achievements and getting Steam Deck Verified.
