GOG just announced an expansion of their popular one-click mod program with a bunch of new big mods available including S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly.

These one-click mods range from overhauls to total conversions. Unlike other modding platforms, there's nothing special needed here. It's all directly integrated with the supported games, no launchers, no fiddling around with config files or anything.

From the press release:

Leading this release wave is something truly special: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly, an ambitious standalone mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat. Built from the ground up by fans, Anomaly is not just a mod – it’s an entirely new game. Featuring a rebuilt engine, new mechanics, visual and performance upgrades, and a dynamic sandbox campaign, Anomaly is widely praised as the definitive S.T.A.L.K.E.R. experience.

Now, for the first time ever, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly is available with full one-click installation, as a part of GOG One-click Mods. Just install and play – this is the smoothest and most stable way to experience its haunting atmosphere.

And the others that have been added today include:

  • Belzebub for Diablo + Hellfire
A total overhaul for the original Diablo, bringing HD resolution, quality-of-life improvements, and expanded gameplay.
  • SWAT: Elite Force for SWAT 4: Gold Edition
A community-fueled expansion that restores and enhances tactical depth, modernizes UI elements, and introduces new missions and equipment.
  • RealRTCW for Return to Castle Wolfenstein
A technical and visual upgrade for RTCW, featuring modern controls, enhanced graphics, rebalanced AI, new weapons, and widescreen support.
  • GMDX for Deus Ex: GOTY Edition
This award-winning mod refines gameplay, graphics, and AI, improving almost every system while maintaining the atmosphere of the groundbreaking classic.
  • Ashes 2063 for DOOM II
A gritty total conversion built in the DOOM II engine, it’s a completely new game filled with post-apocalyptics environments, scavenging mechanics, and a gripping single-player campaign.
  • KeeperFX for Dungeon Keeper
This remake and fan expansion aims to preserve and expand upon the original Dungeon Keeper experience, offering many new features, improvements, and more, while staying true to the original feeling of the game.

I expect a lot of them will work fine with Wine / Proton.

KeeperFX is cool, though I had already set that up pretty easily in the past thanks to lutris scripts

i ... don't get it. I mean ... as said: Anomaly is a standalone game. it was always a one click install basically. So shouldn't it just be added to their free game library instead of mods?

What really needs a one click install would be GAMMA. Especially on Linux it's not as straight forward as it should be and the easiest way to install it is a fan script.

Well. Getting playable framerates with it is an entirely different story though.

Ashes 2063 is also a standalone game nowadays, is it not?

What a coincidence, I installed Anomaly just a few days ago, just out of interest, and it runs great with Proton (umu-launcher). I mothballed it for now as I'm too involved with Stalker 2 to get into it. I'll dig it out at a later date as I want to add a 2k graphics mod (I was amazed how many mods there are for Anomoly!)

Nice that GOG is doing this, not everyone wants the hassle of configuring things themselves.
