Here's the latest data from Valve on what the most played games on Steam Deck were for August 2025, and perhaps unsurprisingly Hollow Knight is top.

With the announcement of Hollow Knight: Silksong releasing September 4th, getting Steam Deck Verified and the low price announcement - it's expected the original was going to shoot up the list rather quickly. Players likely refamiliarising themselves with it, along with renewed interest from new players jumping in to see what all the Silksong fuss is about. Looking over Steam charts, Hollow Knight (the original) is currently the 26th top seller globally.

And, if you're curious on what's the most played over the last year, here's the top 5 most played games for an entire year September 24 - September 25:

What have you been playing across Steam Deck / SteamOS and other Linux systems lately? Let us know in the comments.

I've been pulled back into Overwatch 2 lately, which does run surprisingly well on Steam Deck due to family being quite into it so that's been taking some hours away from me. That, and of course plenty more PEAK because it's an exceptionally great co-op experience with friends.

Over the last couple of months I've completed The Raven, Sifu and Lacuna (all on the Deck), Detroit: Become Human (streamed from desktop to the Deck), and Control (on the desktop), and played some Dead Cells, Tchia, Jelly Car Worlds, Tempopo, While True: Learn(), Brütal Legend, and En Garde.

I have to make a pitch for Nova Drift. For me, this is a near perfect blend of arcade, roguelike and spaceships. There is a demo, too. :)
PS: how do i link to external sites? Is this standard bbcode?

On Deck, I've been loving Quartet. It's SOOOOO good, can't recommend it enough.

Halo:MC remains in the list. I hope some day the fix the issue that Steam Deck (Linux?) can't play co-op with windows.

They did add a special error message to the game, which specifically mentioned the Steam Deck. So, they did that instead of fixing it.
