Indie dev Carry Castle recently announced Midnight Horde, a game that blends the popular mechanics of Vampire Survivors with parkour moves.

Probably one of the most unique takes on the genre I've ever seen as you dodge, climb, and weave through swarms of twisted creatures as they soar across the walls of gothic ruins. An interesting upgrade system too with your own castle to build and upgrade as you go. It has some really nice ideas so I can't wait to see more from this one and runs just fine with Proton on Linux.

A demo has been released along with a new trailer.

“Midnight Horde is my personal challenge to make the most objectively fun and flow state focused game I can make as a solo developer. It blends everything I love: gothic vibes, roguelite progression, and fast, skill-based movement, into an experience that’s both intense and expressive.” - Per Fornander, the Developer at Carry Castle

Game Highlights:

  • Parkour System: Dash, climb, and outwit the swarms across haunted rooftops while delivering mayhem to the waves of monstrosities.
  • Castle Building: Strengthen your fortress between runs, unlocking upgrades and defences to tip the balance.
  • Roguelite Progression: Each night is different: experiment with builds, explore, and adapt to survive.
  • Gothic Atmosphere: A dark, hand-crafted world inspired by classic gothic scenes, dripping with atmosphere.

No exact release date yet other than sometime in 2026.
