Selaco is easily one of the most promising retro-infused shooters around, and it's going to get a lot better with the Chapter 2 update.
In a new lengthy developer post on Steam, their team go over some details of some planned improvements to come across the whole game. While it has an overall Very Positive rating on Steam, they've been carefully listening to feedback and will be addressing some common pain-points in the game.
One of the big issues being navigation, it's surprisingly easy to get a little lost and end up going in circles. So they'll be adding in an icon on the map for your next goal, along with tweaking some green lighting that was a bit confusing on showing where to go.
Another adjustment is being made to Weapon Kits, something you can easily miss as an unlockable. Those you miss during a level will now appear in the Weapon Upgrade Station, which you can buy if needed. Nice. However, there's still some you will absolutely have to hunt around for.
They're also going to be adding in an Incursion Mode closer to the full release, which is a complete separate campaign giving you "Deathmatch-style levels, with heavy inspiration from Rainbow Six’ Terrorist Hunt, Gears of War’s Horde Mode, and Unreal Tournament" - which sounds like a whole lot of fun. I love the combat systems especially in Selaco, so I'm really keen to see this.
Enemy AI is also getting a nice buff. Enemies will be smarter with better pathfinding, understanding safe spaces better to actually take cover and more tweaks to how they detect you.
There's a lot more they plan to improve including performance, hit feedback, audio design, updates coming to improve the lighting in Chapter 1 and so on.
