Heroes of Hammerwatch II from Crackshell / Team17 just released the first free major update to the rogue-lite action-rpg, along with improving it on Steam Deck.

What is it? "A rogue-lite action-rpg brimming with randomly generated levels, deep customization, and rich persistent progression. Battle your way through the perilous Dark Citadel, collecting powerful equipment and trinkets that unlock game-changing upgrades and abilities. This unique mix of permanent equipment in the style of action-rpgs along with run defining rewards from its rogue-lite roots results in a compelling experience where you are sure to get something new out of every run, always progressing in some way, with no two runs the same."

The main highlights of this update include:

  • Endgame Maps.
  • Epic Tier Armour Drops.
  • Improved Steam Deck Support.
  • French, German, Russian, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese Language Support.

The tweak for the Steam Deck was small, mainly adjusting the resolution but this should now be enough to get the game bumped up from Steam Deck Playable to Steam Deck Verified. The less people have to go diving into settings to get a game to look right, the better the overall experience.
