Mesa 25.2.5 would normally be just another small point-release bug fix, but in this case it's a little extra special for Intel GPU owners on Linux.

This merge request that was accepted and pulled into Mesa on October 13th from developer Sagar Ghuge actually reverted a previous bit of code, which as turns out was quite problematic for newer Intel GPU owners. There were a fair few bug reports across Age of Wonders 4, Dirt Rally 2.0, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, Assassin's Creed Shadows and so on reporting graphical issues. It took a while to track down, but the issue should now be solved.

Thanks to all the work that went into finding the problem, gaming on Linux with a newer Intel GPU should be a whole lot better. Just look at how bad Age of Wonders 4 was on an Intel Arc B580:
