Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection releases soon from Digital Eclipse and Atari and ahead of release Valve have given it the green tick to be Steam Deck Verified.
So, it should be click and play without problems on Valve's handheld and other Linux systems. According to Valve's rating though, the game does not default to external controllers so you need to swap the order in the SteamOS Quick Access menu. Apart from that, it should be smooth. Valve's rating was tested with Proton 10.
Fans of the classics might be interested in this release with multiple games, online play with rollback netcode, along with a full interactive documentary which actually sounds quite interesting for a little look behind the game dev curtain.
