The Crusader Kings III: All Under Heaven expansion has released and to much surprise, it seems finally Paradox are back on form with players loving it.
After a string of misses recently from Paradox, with the last two DLC releases for CK3 missing the mark and plenty not happy with Stellaris DLC either - it's nice to see something actually go well. Especially nice, as next to Stellaris this is actually one of my favourites from Paradox.
Key features of the expansion include:
- China: The Mandate of Heaven – Achieve the highest tier of power with the Hegemony title, navigate the Dyanastic Cycle, explore the Celestial government system, and more.
- Japan: Rise of the Shogunate – Forge your destiny and rise through the courtly system to become a mighty Shogun or Kapaku regent, lead the Imperial Yamato house to restore power to the Emperor, and more.
- Southeast Asia: God-Kings and Temple Empires – Rule as a Devaraja with the Mandala Government and perform Tributary Missions to increase favor with subjects.
- Explore the Silk Road, new Starting Bookmarks, and Historical Flavor – Thrive alongside the expansive Silk Road, bring fresh perspectives with additional historical bookmarks, and immerse yourself in the historical nuances of Asia with throne rooms, events, and traditions.

On Steam, it quickly gained a Very Positive rating.
The 1.18.0 free update also arrived with the DLC expansion, which includes a lot as well. Too much to include here which you can read on their forum.
However, looking around, unfortunately it seems the Linux version has been left in a bit of a state. It's also problematic with Vulkan on Windows too, so seems something with their Vulkan rendering has been broken with this DLC release. Hopefully we'll see a quick patch to solve whatever is going on there.
