At the release of the Crusader Kings III: All Under Heaven expansion and free update, the Linux and macOS updates were problematic but it should now be fixed.
There were many reports of it, and it seemed specifically to do with the Vulkan API and it affected Windows too. As of the latest update with version 1.18.2 released today, the issue should hopefully now be solved. Noted under the tech improvements part of the changelog:
- We now support Apple Silicon CPUs natively (ARM architecture) and that should give a nice performance boost for people using M1/M2/M3/M4 chips.
- Graphical performance of Vulkan under Linux and Mac is brought back to roughly before-update levels.
- Map graphics shader performance has been fine tuned and improved, which will help out mid-range graphics cards the most.
A whole lot more came with this update too including three hit musical tracks from CK2 Jade Dragon for everyone, and various new features and various other bits of free content including: new events, special buildings, Steam Rich Presence for All Under Heaven features, UI improvements and so on.
It's a surprisingly big patch for the game. See all in the changelog.
