Welcome back, dear readers, to another community article for us all to have a little chat about what we've been playing recently. It's been about a month since we last did this, so it's time to see how you're all doing.
Last time I was completely hooked on ARC Raiders, clocking up a current total of 135 hours. I'm at a point where I feel like I've seen pretty much everything the game has to offer, and so I've taken a bit of a break from it for a while to see how it evolves across a few updates. Very enjoyable though, as long as you don't mind the PvP where you end up losing your good stuff constantly.
Now that I've kicked the ARC habit, I've been jumping into a few other games including the truly excellent Sektori. Mixed in with some Overwatch 2 for the new season and winter events, because family members love it. Despite a brief hiccup with the latest season, it continues running great on Linux.
I also properly tried to get into Fallout 76 with the partner recently too, but something about it just feels a bit off. I can't quite put my finger on why. I think, perhaps, I just enjoyed Fallout 3 and New Vegas too much that it doesn't do it for me as an MMO? More time needed to see for sure. Am I really missing too much if I skip over F76?
Over to you in the comments - what have you been playing lately?
I'm really loving Where Winds Meet. It's the first online game I've truly enjoyed for a long while now. I just hope it doesn't turn into the typical NetEase game eventually.
I went to Nexusmods to see what mods there were for Stellar Blade, as I do for most games I buy... Big mistake... just gross.

Quoting: notinuseI've been playing Legend of Grimrock 2. I like old-type dungeon crawls similar to Dungeon Master, and Grimrock 2 adds outdoor areas that work better than I expected. Having a lot of fun crawling around the sewers. This is high on my list! You think it'd be good on the Deck? Or is a mouse keyboard better?
Also playing Valheim with my wife. We're about to enter Mistland, so in "preparation" we're spending a few weeks building a fancy house.

I've enjoyed my time, but it's immediately clear to me that this is not the default way that I want to play my games. Input lag is noticeable. This especially problematic in menus and when trying to fire a gun. Not really an issue with other stuff though as these games are not particularly quick.

Quoting: awesomeXpossumPentiment, Pathfinder:Kingmaker and also replaying the first Pillars of Eternity again in the newly added turn-based modeare you having any issues with the turn based mode? It's still in beta, so just wondering if I should keep waiting ...
I am done with Brushes with Death, made some progress in Legacy of the Forge and advanced the main quest almost to the "point of no return" and took a first peek at Mysteria Ecclesiae.
In a way, I don't want the game to end, so I am a bit hesitant to rush everything to its conclusion, but since I've already clocked 150 hours by now it's really time to wrap it up.
But as fun as the game is, personally I feel the original KC:D offered a better experience. It had better quests, a better open world, a more personal, relatable story and a perk to automate the alchemy mini game.
I'm also waiting to see if my friends are willing to play Diner Bros 2 or the new PlateUp update with me.
