Game publisher Hooded Horse have recently revealed another two titles with Bosslords and Architect of Ruin that looks awesome, as they fight against AI "art". With more and more games appearing on Steam that feature some form of AI generation, we're seeing an increase in pure slop. Thankfully, you can use a browser plugin to make them much easier to spot.
Taken from Hooded Horse having a chat with Kotaku, Hooded Horse now actually have it in their contracts with developers that there's "no fucking AI assets". Interesting to see and a publisher to stick by if you feel strongly against it too.
As for new games being published the first I spotted is Architect of Ruin, which comes from former Valve developers. It's a "completely hand drawn sword and sorcery colony simulation game. Farm, hunt, build, and survive as you rebuild an ancient temple under the gaze of a vengeful god". Really do adore the look of this one, there's no trailer yet but we have a few screenshots available:
The other is Bosslords where you "Gather an army of monsters and misfits to march on the Imperial Capital in this fantasy roguelite auto battler. Explore procedurally generated worlds filled with powerful weapons and artifacts as you gather new recruits to take to battle and show them who's boss".
This one actually does have a trailer:

Both went right into my wishlist.
Quoting: juxuanuOn the other side, as a solo game developer being able to generate some assets for your game can mean your project is now feasible. It'll only cost you all your ethics! A bargain!
That said, with the way public opinion is heading, particularly in the indie gaming space, I don't imagine having people find out you used AI on your game is going to gain you any fans, and some will likely see it as a betrayal. Word spreads fast about stuff like this so it's a heck of a risk.
