Aruma Studios have announced that their supernatural comedy point and click adventure Shadows of the Afterland is set for launch now on February 10th.
In Shadows of the Afterland, you will guide Carolina, a skilled police investigator who awakens in the afterlife — in the past, before her own birth. As a ghost with a face she doesn't recognize, she must master the art of possession to interact with the living and solve the enigma of her own death. Sounds pretty wild and funny.

From the developer: “This is it; this is the game we always wanted to make,” said Rubén López, the story and puzzle designer. “I’m incredibly proud of what the entire team has accomplished.”
“The scope of this project is much broader than our previous title,” added Silvia Izquierdo, who oversees production. “It was a challenge to coordinate, but the result is absolutely worth it.”
Game Highlights:
- Possess the Living: Take control of multiple characters, each with unique skills, to manipulate the physical world.
- Two Realms, One Mystery: Solve puzzles that span the worlds of the living and the dead, connecting past actions to future consequences.
- A Mature Narrative: A dark story exploring identity, murder, and addiction, brought to life by a professional voice cast.
- Modern Adventure: Classic point-and-click depth featuring detailed pixel art and a modern interface.
Seems like a nice treat for fans of point and click adventures. So great to see more in the genre still release. I remember a time where it felt like the genre was basically dead. Indie developers continue to impress me with what they're willing to bring us. A fully voiced demo is currently available too!
