Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown is getting ready for warp speed with a new combat deep dive trailer, and they've announce a release for February 18th.

Giving you the chance to blast through the Delta Quadrant your own way, making choices that Captain Janeway never made, there's a lot of ways you can change your run through - and even end it rather early. Peace at all costs? Take over everything? The adventure this time is your own. Blending elements of strategy, resource management, exploration and more - it has all the makings to be a good one.

At release it will come with a "Deluxe Upgrade" edition on Steam which adds in "new missions, new recruitable heroes, and powerful technologies drawn from pivotal alien encounters in the Delta Quadrant".

As a big Star Trek fan, and a lover of Voyager, I am excited - I just hope they've sorted the audio out that was severely lacking in the early demos. The Steam page does now mention the full game will have "partial voice over as well as updated music and sound effects" so I'm hoping that will really bring it to life.

From the press release: "Following the demo release, we’ve taken lots of valuable player feedback on board. This valuable input allows us to refine core gameplay systems even further, polish localization, and add meaningful details – ensuring the journey through the Delta Quadrant will shine when the game launches in early 2026," says Daniel Bernard, Game Director at gameXcite.

Jonas Hüsges, COO of Daedalic Entertainment GmbH, shared the following: "Matching the spirit of Starfleet, we want to bring this adventure to as many of you as possible on day one. The additional time allows us to synchronize all platforms, including the newly added Nintendo Switch 2 version and improve the game on all levels. A unified launch is the right call for a story about a crew that survives by sticking together. We’re excited to give fans the best possible voyage home."

As a... tolerator of VOY who's also aware how unlikely it is for us to get anything close to that level of quality with how Star Trek is being mistreated and mismanaged... I'm reasonably excited for this. I'll give that demo a try.

Of the new series since Voyager, I have only ever watched Lower Decks and Picard. None of the others interest me. I lost interest in DS9 after Voyager began and never watched more than one or two episodes of Enterprise.

Lower Decks was a HOOT and, Picard, well ... it's Patrick Stewart!
