We're about to say a permanent goodbye to another multiplayer title, as Pandemic Express - Zombie Escape is set to be fully shut down.

Launched back in September 2019 from tinyBuild and TALLBOYS, Pandemic Express - Zombie Escape had a fun idea with humans trying to escape from a horde of player-controlled zombies. It never really was particularly popular though, with an all-time peak of just 897. Even with the tiny amount of players, they added Easy Anti-Cheat into it shortly after the Steam release which broke it on Linux platforms too. It went free to play in January 2020 but even that didn't seem to move things for it at all.

Another game that entirely relied on servers the developer / publisher controls, with no built-in player hosting. Just like we've seen time and time again, most recently with Amazon's New World: Aeternum.

Still a shame to see another game that will vanish.
