After the big release of the stable Wine 11 earlier in January, the work begins again on development releases with Wine 11.1 now available. This compatibility layer to run Windows games on Linux just continues to impress, along with being a massive part of Valve's Proton.
What's new in Wine 11.1:
- Various changes that were deferred during code freeze.
- More pixel format conversions in WindowsCodecs.
- More work on ActiveX Data Objects (MSADO).
- Various bug fixes.
22 bug fixes were noted including issues solved for: Microsoft .NET Framework, Project Cars 2, SnowRunner, Sacred Gold, Microsoft Edge, iTunes, Ubisoft Connect, Genshin Impact, GOG GALAXY and various others.
