If emulation is your thing - check out the Gopher64 emulator for the Nintendo 64, as a major new release of the open source project has arrived. Created by Logan "loganmc10" McNaughton who also made the now retired simple64 emulator project, with Gopher64 being their next-generation option.

With version 1.1.16 out now it adds these major new additions:

  • MacOS (ARM) support
  • RetroAchievements support

  • Windows ARM support
  • Updated Rust and SDL3 to latest versions
  • Improved speed limiter
  • Reset hotkey (F12). Simulates pushing the Reset button on the console
  • Minor bug fixes

Personally... achievements are the one thing I really don't want in old games. Don't need that dopamine.
