The awesome GameCube and Wii emulator Dolphin has officially dropped support for the D3D12 API in favour of going all-in with Vulkan.

The developer of the open source Playstation 3 emulator 'RPCS3' has improved Linux support recently.

This is awesome, Dolphin the big GameCube & Wii emulator has now merged in the code for official Vulkan support.

Little late on this due to inbox spam (too many games getting released!), but it seems Dolphin the GameCube and Wii emulator can now boot every GameCube game in the official library.

On the github pull request to bring in the Vulkan backend for the Dolphin emulator, it now reads as feature complete.

RetroArch now has a pre-alpha Vulkan renderer for their N64 emulator. This is pretty cool to see and hopefully it helps performance.

I love emulators, I think they are a fantastic way to keep old platforms alive. Even with the grey area around roms I think they are really interesting. Dolphin is now working on a Vulkan backend.

For those who like a bit of emulation in their lives, PPSSPP has release a major update to their open source emulator recently.

A couple of old Sid Meier classics were released on Steam, more precisely Sid Meier's Colonization, Pirates! Gold Plus, and Sid Meier's Covert Action.

Puppy Arcade is a FREE retro gaming operating system, with many emulators included for different systems & consoles, plus the multi-system rom browser 'Rom-Loader', and many other exclusive tools.

BlastEm has released a new major update recently adding some highly needed features, it's always good to see old systems get preserved through emulators.

BlastEm has the goal of being an extermely accurate Sega Genesis (Mega Drive) emulator while still running on relatively modest hardware by using advanced techniques.
