Don't miss the GOG weekend sale which has some rather nice Linux games

Posted by , | Views: 5,173

GOG are doing weekend sale celebrating French game studios and there's quite a few really good Linux games worth picking up.

Alors mes amis, it's time for some magnifique French games on discount, non? From the land of vertically challenged military leaders and accomplished national football teams, comes a selection of locally-produced games that are fine as wine. We've also thrown in some titles that recently received French localization, why not. GOG.com

Here's some top Linux gaming picks from their weekend sale:

The discounts will end on July 16th at 10PM UTC. You can find the whole list right here.

Actually, there's also the (better) sequel to Blocks that matter : Tetrobot & co.

The very dark & gore beat them up "Mother Russia Bleeds" is pretty cool & disturbing too.

Ah, NeuroVoider, also (twin stick shooter) and Machia Villain (build a haunted mansion & frighten & kill guests).

Current favorite is obviously Dead Cell I tend to be fed up with the rogue / rpg mechanisms but this one impressed me a lot.

Oh, thanks for the news. It’s annoying how GOG never sends emails when wishlisted games go on sale during a "big" sale… For example I have Wonder Boy in my wishlist but didn’t get any mail.

When I bought Wizard of Legend I didn't know what to expect, turns out it's a good game and can be quite challenging.

Feel free to try the wishlist feature on our sales page, you can add a game any time in the UserCP. Feedback welcome (gitlab or the forum).

I remember so well the first time I played Another World on Atari ST. At that time, a single person could write an entire game that was both technically & artistically better than the rest of the industry. 27 years ago...

Well, I used to regret the late 80s / early 90s for those reasons, but in the past few years, the number of quality indie games skyrocketed. (I really wonder how they make a living)

Dead Cells and NeuroVoider are on itch.io as well. You get a DRM free download and a STEAM key.
I got NeuroVoider during the itch.io summer sale and bought Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap on GOG (one copy for me and one for my brother).
