Feral Interactive are teasing ANOTHER new Linux port

Posted by , | Views: 18,698

Feral Interactive are at it once again, go dust off those thinking caps as they're bringing another game to Linux.

From the famous Feral Radar, here's their latest Linux port teaser:

As a reminder, Feral Interactive have only recently release Life is Strange: Before the Storm and Total War: Warhammer II is confirmed to be coming this autumn. On top of that, last month they also put up another teaser that we're still guessing.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do try to get more ports out earlier now, especially with Steam Play which would eat into their Linux port sales. Anyway…looks like 2018 really will be another great year for Linux gaming!

The amount of Linux games Feral has ported now is kind of ridiculous: XCOM, XCOM 2, Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Mad Max, Shadow of Mordor, HITMAN, F1 2017, Life is Strange, Life is Strange: Before the Storm, Dawn of War II, Dawn of War III, DiRT Rally and the list goes on.

What do you think "AURORA" will be?

riusmaSeagulls are maybe for the band A Flock of Seagulls (always a song in the clues)?

In their song "I Ran" there is a mention of Aurora (Aurora borealis). There could be a connection.
My thoughts as well.

QuoteThe cloud is moving nearer still
Aurora Borealis comes in view
Aurora comes in view
I Ran (So Far Away) - A Flock Of Seagulls
If this lead is correct, then I can see two possible prominent themes in the song that wouldn't be too insanely cryptic to reference: a red-haired woman and disappearance. Which could either refer to a red-haired female protagonist or something disappearing. Or both. Well, there is also running of course but that is a bit too broad, it can't be the only meaningful element, right? (Unless we're getting Mirror's Edge or something)

jensAs far as I know they announce as soon as they are allowed to. You know what an NDA is?

I will tell you what it is not: it is no excuse from criticisms.

fabry92It's probably another Total War :/
I hope so! Maybe Total War: Rome 2? (actually it's too old for that - 2013)

MayeulCWell, this one was obvious. The seagulls, first, and then the name, Aurora.

Half-Life 3 Confiiiiiiiiiirmed!

As Linux exclusive baby!

Nah, to be fair, fuck exclusives. I'm okay with Windows users getting it 4 months later.

I thought working with fire and steel was warhammer 2 if not its more likely to be one of the other warhammer turn based games. Shadow of tomb raider is probably a given. The previous two games but both game after at least 18 month delays so its probably too soon. Hitman 2 would be good now that IO are independent they did authorise the port of the first hitman whether they got the sales return on it to do it again is another matter.

Well it could be the Aurora engine Neverwinter nights or the original witcher games used Aurora

I'm pretty bad at this game and I can't find the link with Seagulls, but searching Aurora reveals this:

A clue to Hitman 2?

I am going with Grand Theft Auto

I managed to link this to the following album and the track "I ran" has been referenced to GTA Vice city.

Aurora Borealis - The Greatest Hits
A Flock of Seagulls - I Ran

Not too old : they ported Medieval Total War II two years ago...

But I don't think it is this one. Maybe Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

GTA V would rock as well !
