Divinity Original Sin II - Definitive Edition - stopped starting a while ago.

Game used to work ok in the past. Started it again for a first time in a year or so and it won't load and shows the following error: DXGI_ERROR_INVALID_CALL

Screenshot

I've played with different Proton versions and tried different online solutions (mostly related to modifying gfx settings xml file and fullscreen options) but nothing seems to work.

Perhaps someone came across this issue and have found a fix? I would appreciate any pointers you good crowd cares to share!

Cheers!

Machine specs:

Distro: Arch
CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X
Mem: 32GB
GPU: nVidia Quadro RTX 5000 (2080 equivalent more or less) 16GB
Storage: multiple nVME and SSDs - all ext4 formatted.
A couple of 2560x1440 screens
nVidia drivers: tried several stable ones - no change, same error.

Some generic advice:

- Delete the old Proton prefix for the game when trying new Proton versions.
- Enable logging with PROTON_LOG and check for additional error messages in the Wine log
- Have anything changed on your system since the game worked last? Missing or broken drivers for e.g. 32bit can be an issue and not something you might notice if you don't play older games very often.
- You might want to ask for help in the Proton bug tracker too, You might have more luck finding people with the same problem there.

Hope you get it working!

Thanks a lot! Will give debugging and proton bug tracker a go (already tried with deleting compatdata game folder with no success).
