Hot Lava announced by Klei Entertainment, Linux support is planned

Klei Entertainment have announced their next game titled 'Hot Lava'. They are already planning a Linux version. It's an amusing idea, going back to childhood games of 'don't touch the floor'.

I asked them about it being Windows only, and they said this:

@gamingonlinux for beta yes, we need to keep development focused. But we have a pretty good track record for solid Linux ports on releases.

So we can expect it when the game is further along and polished up like they do with their other games.

They also confirmed it again on their Steam forum topic here.

I've liked all of Klei Entertainment's games, and I'm sure this will be no different.

About the game

The floor is lava!

Hot Lava transports you back to your childhood imagination. Relive those moments of excitement, joy and chaos. Traverse distinct worlds, from school hallways to the memories of your darkest fears. This is a game of dexterity and ingenuity, you will have to use all your skills to complete the treacherous obstacles that await.

But whatever you do…

Don’t Touch The Floor

you can't go wrong with a Klei game, solid ports and very good, inventive games

Gotta say, I was hoping it would be more like the mid-90s cartoon at the start. Give us more cyber porpise bazookas!

Interesting... But I wonder what the long term 'hook' will be for the game. If this game ends up with multiplayer, a level editor, and steam workshop support then this game could get a nice following like CS Surf.

Looks interesting but I don't know if I would enjoy this type of gameplay. But so far I enjoyed every single game from Klei so who knows.. Maybe I will love it?
